Learn about dancing away the winter blues & walk with us
Get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking—and dancing—in the winter!
Burlington Family Health Team physiotherapist Anne Svetik-Jones explores the benefits of dancing for keeping healthy and active this winter. Find out how dance therapy is used to help treat and manage various movement disorders and conditions, such as Parkinson's. Try out a few new dance moves with Anne and discover where you can join fantastic free or low-cost dance-based programs in the community. Then spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and fun conversation.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. We meet in Centennial Hall at Central Branch for the talk, and then move outdoors to the Central Park Rose Garden, just opposite the south entrance, facing New Street.
We encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey. Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which will be provided at the start of the walk.
