The excessive use of plastic is having a catastrophic impact on our environment. Plastic is toxic to produce, pollutes land, lakes and oceans, and is expensive to recycle. While there has been a small shift away from using single-use plastics by consumers, are paper straws and reusable shopping bags really enough?
In this session, learn about the future of the reusable economy and hear from local and industry leaders: corporate social enterprises that are re-defining consumer convenience, our local regional government on how policy and politics are putting the responsibility of waste back on the producers, and local businesses who are leading the movement in our city. Find out what’s in store for the single-use economy and how making small changes at home can have a positive impact in your life and in your community.
