Learn about respiratory health & take a walk with us
Get moving, stay active, and discover the many benefits of walking! Respiratory Therapist Tracy Bonifacio talks about protecting your lungs by learning about radon—a colourless, odourless gas that is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada. Discover where it comes from, how to test for it in your home, and what to do if levels are too high. And then spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and lively conversation.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. Meet us near the Fireplace at the Tansley Woods Branch. We will then move to the outdoor space at Tansley Woods, facing the grassy field just in front of the library parking lot (just south of Upper Middle).
Walking is a wonderful form of physical activity and we encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey! Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which is provided at the start of the walk.
