FireplaceLearn how to prevent winter falls, then walk with us!
Get moving, stay active, and discover the many benefits of walking! This session is led by BFHT Occupational Therapist Tess Ewert Zehr and Registered Nurse Renata Lindop, who explore practical strategies for preventing slips and falls during the winter months. Learn how winter weather can increase your risk of falls, discover helpful safety tips, and explore innovative products that can help prevent falls and provide assistance if one occurs. After the talk, spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and lively conversation.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. Meet us near the Fireplace at the Tansley Woods Branch. We will then move to the outdoor space at Tansley Woods, facing the grassy field just in front of the library parking lot (just south of Upper Middle).
Walking is a wonderful form of physical activity, and we encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey! Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which is provided at the start of the walk.
