Here's what we're reading this month The Forgotten Daughter by Joanna Goodman
In 1992 Montreal, Véronique Fortin, the daughter of a radical separatist, passionately supports Quebec's independence, even engaging in illegal activities to achieve political goals. Her unexpected romance with James Phénix, a bilingual journalist opposed to separatism, creates a charged clash between love and ideology. Meanwhile, James’s sister Elodie, a Duplessis Orphan, joins a fight for justice and reparations for her traumatic past, finding in Véronique a kindred spirit and ally as both women navigate the burdens of their history.
