An interactive talk with author Rod Carley
Satire is a serious business and making it look easy is the art of successful humour writing. Using readings from his new collection of interconnected short stories, Grin Reaping, Rod Carley discusses and demonstrates the literary and humour devices behind effective satirical writing. A Different Drummer Books will be onsite selling books for signing after the talk.
Presented in partnership with A Different Drummer Books
Rod Carley is the award-winning author of Grin Reaping (2022), Kinmount (winner of the Silver Medal for Best Regional Fiction from the 2021 Independent Publishers Book Awards and one of ten books longlisted for the 2021 Stephen Leacock Memorial Medallion for Humour), and A Matter of Will (finalist for the 2018 Northern Lit Award for Fiction).
