Rooted in Indigenous ways with Grandmother's Voice
Gathering Voices is a welcoming community circle where people come together to share stories, learn from one another and connect through Indigenous teachings and holistic practices. Hosted monthly, the gathering grows into whatever the community needs at the moment. It is a space for reflection, conversation, culture, healing, and belonging. It is rooted in the Indigenous tradition of gathering in a circle where everyone is equal, everyone is held, and everyone is heard. All are welcome.
February's session features teachings about the lunar cycle with Jenn Luxmore-Begin of 13 Moons of Creation. Participants explore the practice of journaling, planning, and creative expression in relationship with nature and Grandmother Moon. Planners and calendars by 13 Moons of Creation will be available for purchase.
This circle is hosted in collaboration with Grandmother's Voice.
Empowering communities across the Halton region Grandmother's Voice serves as a beacon for building awareness and fostering connectedness. They are dedicated to enhancing capacity and illuminating the landscape of Indigenous social services and determinants of health in the region. They strive to strengthen bonds, raise awareness, and contribute to the well-being of our community.
Jenn (she/her) is a creative, musician and educator, settler Anishinaabe woman and member of the Mattagami First Nation. As an educator and facilitator of women's circles, Jenn works to create community connection and embodiment of culture in everyday life. Her lunar calendar is based on the understanding that we are part of a larger cycle. 13 Moons of Creation
