Help create a recycled-materials village for Earth Day!
Let's grow a one-of-a-kind community—one cardboard building at a time! Families are invited to put their imaginations to work, designing and building a small structure using recycled and reused materials that will become part of our growing Neighbourhood in Bloom village.
What will your family create? A cozy home, a bakery, a library, a tree house, or something wonderfully unexpected? Using cardboard and simple supplies, transform everyday materials into charming buildings that come together to form a neighbourhood built by many hands.
This all-ages program celebrates creativity, community, and caring for our planet—proving that even the simplest materials can become something magical when we build together. All materials provided.
Can't make it to the program? Pick up an instruction sheet to build your own creation at home, then bring it in to join our recycled village!
If you need an accessibility accommodation during this program, please contact us a few days before your visit at inclusion@bpl.on.ca or 905.639.3611 extension 1211.
Tansley Woods Branch Library opened on 14 September 1996, at the time the first new branch in 28 years, to serve a growing northeast community.
