Join us for our walk & talk program
Get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking! This session is led by Burlington Family Health Team psychotherapist and Social Worker, Tara Salehi Varela. First learn about the positive impact of nature on mental health. Topics include how exposure to nature can boost mood, improve focus, reduce stress, enhance sleep quality, and foster a sense of belonging. After the talk, we take a guided mindful walk, connecting with nature through the five senses.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. Meet us in the Holland Room at Central Branch. We will then move to the outdoor space at the Central Park Rose Garden, just opposite the south entrance, facing New Street.
Walking is a wonderful form of physical activity and we encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey! Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which is provided at the start of the walk.
