As an author of fiction and non-fiction for children and adults, and as an editor and sensitivity reader, Wanda Taylor has a wealth of personal and professional knowledge and experience in crafting strong characters. She shares tools to include diversity in storytelling and characters, which consider the nuances of culture and avoid the stereotypical tropes that can negatively effect the way we tell stories.
Wanda Taylor has enjoyed a varied writing career, including journalist and screenwriter. Her middle grade book, The Grover School Pledge, was listed as one of the Best Book in Children’s Literature by Kobo Books. She's a faculty member/mentor for the MFA Writing & Publishing program at the University of King's College. She has won numerous awards for her cross-industry work, including the Women of Excellence Award for Arts and Culture.
