A talk & activities for families
On April 8, 2024, Burlington will be in a sliver of Canada that will experience a total solar eclipse. In this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, viewers get to see the moon totally block the light from the sun.
Join us for a family-friendly talk by a representative from McMaster University's Department of Physics and Astronomy to learn more about eclipses, the total eclipse of 2024, and how to safely view this phenomenon.
The presentation and activities are geared to school-age children and older. Stay after the talk to decorate your solar viewing glasses and learn about making pinhole cameras. Get an eclipse viewing log and colouring sheets to take home, too!
Presented in partnership with McMaster University
