Turning art into sound
Discover the therapeutic benefits of rhythm and sound. Drumming, therapeutic sound, and music have been shown to focus the mind, reduce stress, and shift mood.
You'll begin by discussing the benefits of therapeutic sound, doing group warm-up exercises and exploring and playing instruments. Then you'll examine a piece of art and use the instruments you've explored to create a Soundscape that represents the artwork.
All instruments are provided, and no musical experience is required.
Workshop facilitator Karen Agro is a health professional and musician who is completing a Professional Diploma in Sound Arts Therapy through the British Academy of Sound Therapy.
