Local photographer, Sara Heinonen offers insight into her art and how it was impacted by and grew during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hear her tips and tricks for budding street photographers, as well as her experiences creating her most recent photo series and self-published book documenting the exterior of Giant Tiger in Downtown Hamilton from summer 2019 to spring 2020.

About the Artist
Sara Heinonen is a Canadian writer and photographer living in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a portrait photographer focused on writers, artists, and other creative people, and a street photographer working on several series. Sara's photographs have shown at fine art exhibitions and auctions, and her fiction has appeared in various Canadian literary magazines. Her story collection, "Dear Leaves, I Miss You All," was published in 2013. Her writing has been supported by Canada Council, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Council grants.
