Centered around the renowned Chilean poet and diplomat, Pablo Neruda, forced into exile to escape persecution. Neruda visits Capri with his companion Matilda in 1952. Beguiled by the island's beauty and by the quietude, he decides to settle there. Il Postino tells the imaginative story of that day and a touching, improbable friendship that occurred.
