With author Wanda Taylor in conversation with radio host Sandra Henein
Award-winning author Wanda Taylor shares the stage with Sandra Henein, host of FM radio's Black Exposed, to talk about the differences in writing about Black history across ages and genres.
Taylor's latest book for middle grade readers, The Grover School Pledge, tells the story of Arlaina who bolstered by her father's childhood experience in the Million Man March, teams up with her no-nonsense classmate Nadia and other Grover School students to right a systemic wrong. Selected as the top book in children’s literature by Kobo Books, it's a true-to-life story about the pains and triumphs of growing up.
A Different Drummer Books will be onsite selling the The Grover School Pledge for signing after the talk.
Presented in partnership with Harper Collins Canada
