Kids writing workshop with Jennifer Faria
This is one in a series of five Burlington Literary Festival writing workshops for children 8-12 led by popular Burlington children's authors.
Join local published illustrator Jennifer Faria, and learn how to draw characters with emotion.
From happy to sad and everything in between, kids explore the topics of emotions, expressions, and basic facial anatomy using Faria's picture book, Finding Moose. Jennifer shares her artistic journey and leads a discussion about how she draws and the role emotions and facial expressions play in creating a picture book.
In the hands-on portion of the workshop, kids discover how various emotions can be depicted by drawing different types of facial expressions. Each child may create a simple self-portrait conveying an emotion of their choice.
Funding has been provided in part by the Burlington Arts and Culture Fund.
