New Appleby
FireplaceLearn about building bone health & then walk with us!
Get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking! Occupational Therapist Danielle Haney shares expert insights on bone health, including how aging affects bones and the role of exercise, nutrition, and medications. Hear practical strategies and get helpful resources to feel confident in maintaining strong, healthy bones for years to come. After the talk, spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and lively conversation.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. Meet us near the fireplace at New Appleby Branch. We will then move to the outdoor space at the Robert Bateman Community Centre, facing the grassy field at the north entrance of the building.
Walking is a wonderful form of physical activity and we encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey! Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which is provided at the start of the walk.
