Program RoomExploring hidden grief and connecting with community supports
Grief affects everyone differently. 'Disenfranchised grief' refers to grief that is not openly acknowledged, socially supported, or publicly mourned. This can include non-death losses, stigmatized relationships or causes of death, situations where individuals are not recognized as grievers, or when their way of grieving is judged or misunderstood.
In this workshop, the Grief and Bereavement Team at Carpenter Hospice explores how disenfranchised grief can affect our lives and relationships, as well as the range of supports and services they provide.
This session is open to anyone in the community who wants to deepen their understanding of grief, build compassion for themselves and others, and learn about pathways to healing and support.
Presented in collaboration with Carpenter Hospice
