With Catherine Little, author of Jane and the Blue Willow Princess
Jane Austen’s novels have been beloved around the world for over two centuries. Her works have been adapted for screen and stage—and everyone has their favourite Mr. Darcy.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth, Catherine Little explores Austen’s life and works (including a connection to Canada), and how a shard of Blue Willow pottery found at Austen's childhood home inspired Little's newest picture book, Jane and the Blue Willow Princess.
Presented in partnership with Plumleaf Press
Catherine Little is a Toronto-based educator, consultant, and writer. A devotee of picture books, her early works shared stories from her Chinese Canadian heritage and culture, and her most recent works, Anne of the Library-on-the-Hill (2025 Toronto Book Awards Long-list), and Jane and the Blue Willow Princess were born of a desire to celebrate classic writers and introduce them to a new generation of readers.
