Learn how to overcome everyday fears & walk with us
Get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking! This session, psychotherapist Tara Salehi Varela begins with an insightful talk on how fear shapes our lives. Whether it’s the fear of failure, disappointing others, or even everyday anxieties like spiders or flying, these worries can hold us back from living fully. Discover how fear is maintained and explore evidence-based techniques to overcome it. After the talk, spend the rest of the hour enjoying a healthy walk and lively conversation.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the walk. Meet us near the Fireplace at the Tansley Woods Branch. We will then move to the outdoor space at Tansley Woods, facing the grassy field just in front of the library parking lot (just south of Upper Middle).
Walking is a wonderful form of physical activity and we encourage all levels of walking ability to participate in this event—whether you complete the entire walk or join us for part of the journey! Walking devices, mobility aids, and walking companions are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver, which is provided at the start of the walk.
