Ahoy, mateys! Set sail on an ARRR!-some adventure with children's author Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters. Become part of the crew through interactive storytelling, pirate games, and laugh-out-loud surprises. Create your own pirate character, tell a pirate tale, and make a pirate flag or parrot puppet to take home. Get ready for an hour packed with imagination, creativity, and yo-ho-ho hilarity!
This program is intended for children ages 6 to 9. Children 5 and under may attend with a caregiver. Please register every member of your group who plans to stay in the room.
About the Author
Dr. Kari-Lynn Winters is an award-winning Canadian children's author, poet, playwright, performer, and academic scholar. She has written over 40 books and garnered multiple awards and nominations, including Ontario Library Association's Rainforest of Reading Readers' Choice Award for Bad Pirate. She's a professor at Brock University's Faculty of Education, where she teaches literacy and the arts to teacher candidates.
